Associations and the Burden of Brexit

4June @ 09:00 - 11:00

This roundtable will explore how Brexit can change the raison d’etre of Associations and what impact this can have on own resources, output efficiency, and decision-making processes.

Association leaders from various fields will have a unique interactive exchange of how Brexit affects their organisations, what steps were taken so far and what are the expectations for the future.

AGENDA

8:30 – Registration and Networking coffee
9:00 – Welcome by Wouter Lox, Chair of the ESAE Advocacy Committee
9:05 – Short introduction by Martin’s Brussels EU
9:10 – Review of the structural consequences of Brexit to European Associations by Glenn Cezanne
9:30 – Roundtable discussion
10:10 – Analysis of the political outlook and the outreach perspective of the European Associations by Glenn Cezanne
10:20– Roundtable discussion
11:00 – Networking Coffee

“No matter what form and shape it will have in the future, Brexit has conditioned European associations to look at their foundations, internal structures and outreach capacities. This is something associations should do regularly and not leave to ad hoc reactions to external factors.”
