Companies and Associations Code – What does it mean for Association Executives?
21May @ 09:00 - 10:30
On May 1st, 2019 the companies and associations Code (hereafter: “New Code”) enters into force. It applies to new non-profit organisations, i.e. those incorporated on and after May 1st, 2019. However, as from January 1st, 2020, the New Code will apply to all non-profit organisations and these definitively need to get ready.
Lots of information has been circulating about the New Code making it difficult to distinguish major changes from minor ones. It is also difficult for non-profit organisations to clearly identify which actions are required.
The first aim of the presentation will be to explain the major changes brought by the New Code (e.g. performance of commercial activities, new liability regime for officers, new governance rules, restructuration and transformation procedures, etc.) which will impact your non-profit organisation. The second aim of the presentation will we be to explain what non-profit organisations are legally required to do due to the entry into force of the New Code and how to better benefit from it.
This workshop will follow-up from FAIB’s 23/04 lunch debate with KOAN Law firm. This event is accessible to all ESAE and FAIB members and it takes place at Thon Hotel EU, Rue de la Loi 75, 1040 Bruxelles.
